What do the Churches of the Rose Assembly, Inc. believe?

Rose Assembly, Inc. Doctrinal Statements
We are Full Gospel and Believe

  • THE SCRIPTURES:  The Bible, both Old and New Testaments are the inspired word of God.  II Timothy 3:15-17.  We accept the authorized King James Version to be authentic in its teaching, and recommend its uses in our churches.

  • THE GODHEAD:  The Godhead being one, but manifested in three personalities:  God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost.  Phil. 2:5; Matthew 3:16-17

  • MAN, HIS FALL, AND REDEMPTION:  Man was created in the likeness of God, but due to the fall of Adam (Genesis 3:6-7) sin entered into the world.  In Genesis 3:15, the promise of redemption was given and in St. John 19:18-30, is found the record of its fullness.  The plan is explained in Romans 5:12-21.

  • SALVATION AND THE NEW BIRTH:  In St. John 3:3-7, Jesus teaches that one must be born again.  The first step toward the new birth is repentance.  II Corinthians 7:10, and faith in the grace of Jesus Christ unto salvation, Ephesians 2:8, Titus 2:11, 3:5-7.

  • SANCTIFICATION:  We recognize the fact that healing comes through the power of God by faith, according to St. Mark 16:17-18, “Believers shall lay hands on the sick and the shall recover.”  In James 5:14-15, instructions are given to the sick and afflicted.

  • BAPTISM OF THE HOLY GHOST AND FIRE:  The Baptism of the Holy Ghost and Fire is for all believers.  Acts 2:38-39, and speaking in tongues is the official evidence.  Acts 2:4; Acts 19:6.

  • DIVINE HEALING:  We recognize the fact that healing comes through the power of God by faith, according to St. Mark 16:17-18, “Believers shall lay hands on the sick and they shall recover.”  In James 5:14-15, instructions are given to the sick and afflicted.

  • THE CHURCH IS THE BODY OF CHRIST:  The CHURCH or the BODY OF CHRIST consists of all born-again believers.  Ephesians 1:22-23.

  • THE GIFTS OF THE HOLY GHOST:  We believe in the operation of the Holy Ghost and the gifts of the Holy Ghost as recorded in I Corinthians 12:4-11, and verses 27-32.

  • MINISTERS:  We believe that ministers are called of God through the Holy Ghost for different ministries and for the edifying of the body of Christ according to Ephesians 4:11-12 and St. Mark 16:15-18.

  • MARRIAGE:  Marriage is honorable in all, and the bed undefiled; but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.  Hebrews 13:4.

  • REMARRIAGE:  A believer who has been remarried because of the death or unfaithfulness of a former spouse is justified.  Any other reason for another marriage is not accepted.  Matthew 5:32.  But I say unto you, that whosoever shall put away his wife, saving for the cause of fornication, causeth her to commit adultery; and whosoever shall marry her that is divorced committeth adultery.

  • ORDINANCES:  The Lord’s Supper, Water Baptism by immersion, in the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Ghost are taught in the scriptures and should be administered in the churches.

  • THE FINAL ABODE OF THE SAINTS:  The new Heaven and the New Earth will be the final abode of all overcoming saints.  Revelation 21:1-7.

  • THE FINAL ABODE OF THE WICKED:  The final abode of the wicked is the Lake of Fire.  Revelation 21:8.

What is the history of Rose Assembly?

EARLY YEARS

The Rose Assembly Church is a non-denominational body of believers and church family.  People of all races, social status, educational, and economic backgrounds are welcomed with open arms and received with gratitude and heartfelt appreciation.
The Rose Assembly Incorporation was chartered over 55 years ago with the intent to equip ministers with the credentials and backing to preach the gospel to the world and build churches to promote the expansion of the body of Christ and strengthen believers.
This entity has faithfully remained committed to this goal and vision for many years and by God’s grace shall continue to do so until Christ returns.
The Rose Assembly Church at Mangum is one of the early churches established.  Its founder and his sons have primarily pastored it for most of the 55 years of its ministry.
The current pastor left his home in Oklahoma City at the age of 14 to assist his brother, Jerry Usher, who at the time began pastoring at the age of 21.  Pastor Jerry pastored almost 30 years before his “promotion” to heaven.  He faithfully served and cared for those in need in ways that few men have.
To date, Gary Usher is currently pastor along with his wife, Teresa Usher.  Along with the qualifications of the Bible and performing complete pastoral ministry for all, he has a special gift for musical talent.  As well as playing numerous instruments, he plays a hand saw, with a violin bow producing music that is unique and special.
There are a few highlights in the history of the Rose Assembly that must be mentioned.  First of all, the founder, the late minister Samuel Usher, pastored and supported the church with such sacrificial commitment that it is never taken lightly.  Because there were no jobs to be found in Mangum, OK in those early years that would amply provide financial resources for the pastor, his family, and the church, he, brother Samuel Usher, got a job at the Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma City.
He labored there all week while his family “held the fort” and were in charge of the mid-week services of the church.  Being away from his family and church to provide the monetary needs was better than trying to heavily burden the people. At that time there were limited incomes and people were struggling just to survive.
Today there are so many who have come to Christ, been called into the ministry, and who have received the life changing gospel, that not one of the things this pastor invested into God’s kingdom has been unfruitful or unrewarded.

LATER YEARS

In later years a vision of a new structure and auditorium was placed upon the heart of the son of Brother Samuel Usher.  The Pastor, Jerry Usher, felt led to build an auditorium approximately five times larger than the one that was in use.  Because of growth, special services and events that drew great crowds, Pastor Jerry saw the need for proper accommodations.
After being unsuccessful to obtain financial loans for such a project, much prayer was made to have a way provided for this vision to become a reality.
THE ANSWER CAME… In response to an ad requesting buildings that could be torn down, materials were used in this construction and project.  At the fairgrounds a great storm had removed the roofs of some of the buildings and left only the best of the framed structures intact.  The plans for a new program were made concerning the buildings at the fairgrounds.  The City of Mangum called Pastor Jerry Usher and said they would like to have the property at the fairgrounds cleared where the storm had struck and that forty percent of the material would go to the City of Mangum and sixty percent to those who did the demolition.  In short form the story ends with the construction of the envisioned edifice, an auditorium erected to the glory of God and debt free upon completion.
A side note:  Among the ones sent and who have attended in past years a mention of Evangelist Floyd Cartwright from Arizona is important.  It was through his encouragement and knowledge of construction that many volunteers were able to construct the auditorium just described.
Also there was a special lady from Idaho and her family who became involved in the church and made a difference in many ways that are too numerous to mention.  Dorothy McNutt who is the late Dorothy Beal, left a legacy and example in the Mangum Rose Assembly Church with her family that shall never be forgotten.  This lady and her family sang, preached, witnessed to the community and worked in the church giving of themselves in ways that few do.  Because of them and God’s favor, the youth group  at Mangum exploded and became a reality.  The youth group at the Rose Assembly would go to the town square every Saturday and hold a “Street Service.” Talk about a concert and crusade for Chris...YOU SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE!
There are volumes that could be written about the history of the Rose Assembly; the testimonies, conversions, baptisms, and wonderful families that have made a difference by their lives, contributions, prayers and love are endless…

6.
What is a typical service like?

First of all there are no typical services.  They are all different and unique.  It must be noted that special talented groups and individuals share special songs and music that are anointed and glorifies the name of Jesus Christ bringing “heaven down to earth!”  The word of God is preached in the totality. Love is the predominant feature of every service.  Testimonies are shared and prayer is so vital that it is highlighted to reflect the scripture that says: “MY HOUSE SHALL BE CALLED A HOUSE OF PRAYER.” There are so many who come looking for answers and with needs who leave rejoicing and their hearts filled with joy and praise. There are those who come forward and receive salvation, healing, and anything from God that is needed.  Pastor Gary uses the King James Version (KJV) Bible in his sermons.  The congregation is invited to bring their Bibles and look up scriptures to follow along.
